If you are eating those tasteless Chinese take-out dough balls people call dumplings, you are doing it wrong.  It is high time you got your dumpling on, and there is no better way to get educated than on this awesome whirlwind of a food tour in Chinatown NYC.

We did a similar dumpling tour back in February and uncovered some great hidden gems, confirmed some long-time favorites, and kicked a few places to the curb.  We have a couple of new places to try on the list and a few old standards to savor.

Date:  MONDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 6 PM

Start Location:  TASTY DUMPLING HOUSE – 54 MULBERRY STREET

Notes:

• We are only exploring Manhattan’s Chinatown, no trendy places in the East Village, food trucks or hipster hangouts.
• We are focused on fried (guotie 鍋貼), boiled (shuijiao 水餃) and steamed (zhengjiao 蒸餃) dumplings.  I love me some soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao 小籠包), but is another tour for another time.
• This is an OUTSIDE WALKING tour, so wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing.  Many of these dumpling joints are small, so we will be eating outside by necessity.
