JAZZ BRUNCH: Blue Trane by John Coltrane - One of my all time favorite Coltrane compositions.  This is Trane’s first outing as a band leader and he kills it with an album that from the first track to the last is a certifiable classic.

While many would be right to say this album sticks with the hard bop sounds of the jazz era and not forging new ground, it is still one of the best of the era and established Trane as a leader in his own right.
