METAL MONDAY: Blackwater Park by Opeth - This band is metal.  Opeth started out as an obscure death metal group out of Sweden.  Then it all changed with the Blackwater Park album released back in 2001 (and the first album released in the US at the same time as in Europe).

They still carry over some elements of the death metal legacy, but the music and lyrics are much more complex and multi-layered on par with the best of heavy metal masters.  This song is perfect example, a twelve minute opus that runs the gamut of themes and tempos that is both exhausting and exhilarating.
